“Paris is resigned, but New York is always hopeful.  Always it believes that something good is about to come off, and it must hurry to meet it.”

– Dorothy Parker

While I may not be a self professed Francophile, I do find myself taking inspiration from the effortless style of the french girl.  There is something so simple and yet exquisite about the style of Parisienne women.  And just as important as simplicity is to me, the fast paced and camp fashion that embodies New York has become essential to my personal style.

Determining your own personal style is hard and takes time to curate.  While my inspiration is clear, it is how I choose to incorporate it that makes it my own.

Taking my Sezane Arthur pants and pairing with my plunging bodysuit I have created a look that combines the simplicity of the french girl style and the excitement of New York fashion.

I am not always one to gravitate toward the plunging neckline unless done tastefully.  With the introduction of a simple pant I feel more accepting of the exposed ensemble.  A “rule” I have been living by recently is to choose a piece (top or bottom) that shows more skin.  This has made me feel more comfortable in all settings.

If you are looking for pieces that incorporate the coveted french girl style, then head over to Sezane, you will not be disappointed.
