“Style is personality.  It’s having the ability to look at things beyond fashion and the self-confidence to transform even the simplest thing into something special”

– Dolce and Gabanna

From Givenchy and Coach to Isabel Marant and Zimmerman the “utility” trend is more popular than ever for Spring/Summer ’19.  It gives a grunge meets fashion vibe.  It is functional yet sophisticated when paired with the right accessories.

Each time you reach for your favorite “utility” piece think about pairing it with something feminine. I believe in making trends fit your own style, since I do not find myself reaching toward pieces that are strictly “utility” style I choose to add shoes, bags, and jewelry that have a more feminine touch.  This makes the trend less obscure and more my personal style.

Personally, cargo pants will never be for me although they may be the trendiest “utility” item in stores they are not me. Although, I do love a cargo inspired pant such as these C/MEO Collective Pants.  They embody the “utility” trend but also the feminine touch I need (photo here).

Last but certainly not least in the “utility” trend, the jacket.  I can never say no to a jacket, especially one that fits into the category: jacket, dress, and trend.  Greylin really knows the way to my heart with this Utility Jacket/Dress.  A multipurpose item that is sure to be the key to my Spring fashion.

Thoughts on the “utility” trend? Are you more cargo pants or jacket?
