Spending my days thinking of cooler weather and wondering if it will ever arrive. Wishing I was layering coats over jackets over sweaters, sweater under dresses, and so much more. Since the weather is not cooling off and I can not layer my clothes I figured I could layer my necklaces instead.
I have been loving the layered necklace look recently. There is something so delicate, feminine, and sexy about a layered look that I can not seem to get enough of.
Time travel to a year ago and if you would have asked me what my jewelry style was I would have told you silver and boring. Catch me on a random day and the only pieces of jewelry I had on were my Cartier Love ring and maybe some studs in my cartilage piercings, besides that I was “jewelry naked”. BUT now I am trying to incorporate more fun pieces into my collection and layering has made that a lot more exciting.
As for preference in metal, I am all about the gold. I’m not sure why but I think it suits me best. Although in reality mixed metals are very on trend right now so it can’t hurt to mix silver, gold, brass, or even rose gold together.
I have layered four different gold ABLE necklaces for my look today. I have a simple metal linked choker, a rose necklace, a circle “K” necklace, and to finish off the look I chose a gorgeous lariat. Honestly this is my ideal layered look but in reality you could easily stack another choker or mid-length necklace for a more intense layered look. And if you want to take it down a notch just simply take out one of the middle necklaces.
When layering necklaces I tend to go for one simple necklace or choker, a more fun piece with a deign/letter, and of course a longer piece to finish off the layered look.
