Taking a trip to my favorite city anytime soon? If you have yet to figure out how much I love New York then simply follow me on Instagram and you will catch on quite fast. Since I love the city and try to visit as often as possible I have come up with a list of places that you have to visit at least once!
Shopping
ba&sh: A lovely little shop in Soho that can not be missed. If you are looking for something different than the traditional “Big Box” stores this is a perfect option. I found my pink suit in here and have been obsessed since.
Sezane: Think Paris in New York. Seriously the most gorgeous little shop, they have complimentary coffee and treats and I love it. And in the Spring they have the most amazing floral display, take a look at it here. And of course the clothes are very French Girl.
Fifth Avenue (Burberry, Gucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co.): Whether you are buying or window shopping, one does not go to New York City without popping into the fantastic designer shops. Burberry is my absolute favorite, the customer service is better than you can even imagine and while you are shopping they offer champagne so honestly what is better than that?
Madison Avenue: A little more quiet than Fifth Avenue shopping and a few more higher end retailers such as Oscar de la Renta, Roger Vivier, and more. It is such a great walk, I recommend walking from around 59th street all the way to at least 78th street.
34th Street- Harold Square: Looking for Macy’s, H&M, Victoria’s Secret, American Eagle, and others alike? Harold Square is a perfect place to find all of your typical Main Street shopping desires.
Soho: Most of the shops found on Fifth Avenue and Harold Square can also be found in Soho. Located South of Houston Street filled with beautiful buildings, cobblestone streets, and of course quaint shops. Soho is a perfect place to spend an entire afternoon.
Attractions
Top of the Rock: To be perfectly honest I have not visited the Top of the Rock in years. Jmo is not into spending money on tourist attractions so I have yet to convince him to let us go back. BUT if you are looking for amazing views of the city and the Empire State Building I highly recommend. I personally think it is worth the money especially if you go early in the morning when less people are there.
Empire State Building: A typical tourist attraction that I somehow successfully forced Jmo to go with me to…probably because of Gossip Girl. Another amazing look at the city that should not be missed. We chose not to pay the extra money to go up to the 102nd floor but still got amazing views on the Main Deck (86th floor) and did not feel like we missed out at all.
One World Observatory: This area is absolutely beautiful. Before even entering the One World Trade Center you can see the 9/11 Memorial, explore all the shops at Brookfield Place and the beautiful Westfield World Trade Center. And while museums may not be everyone’s cup of tea I believe that at least one trip through the museum area is worth it. And the restaurant has amazing views that are a must see.
Battery Park: AMAZING views of the Hudson River. Honestly I could just sit, look out and be perfectly content with life, especially if the weather is nice. I find “parks” to be some of the coolest places to visit in the city, the views are amazing and it is always a great place to rest your feet.
Washington Square Park: In the middle of downtown Manhattan and right near NYU. If you are wanting to feel like a New York City college student this is a perfect place to visit. Although not the only reason a trip to this park is necessary. The Washington Square Arch is a must see and is more beautiful in person. This area is also a great place to people watch.
The High Line: We all find different places and things beautiful but I believe one can agree that every step along The High Line is beautiful and perfect in every way. Running from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street the views are spectacular morning, day, and night.
No matter how many times I visit New York City I am always looking for new suggestions of places to visit. Be sure to leave some comments below so I can try new things on my next visit, which I hope is coming soon!
