Constantly looking for key pieces to throw on and go. Summer and early fall seem to be filled with moments where I need a quick and easy ensemble. Pieces that are comfortable but still express my personal style.
You will rarely find me in denim shorts as I can never seem to find any that fit well. I also tend to struggle “dressing up” denim shorts making them look and feel like me. (Side note: Recently discovered some Abercrombie & Fitch shorts that are the best fitting denim shorts I have found) With that being said, I usually tend to think outside of the box for my more casual pieces.
Simply choosing to pair a basic tee and slides with a skirt makes an ensemble casual. Not only does this particular outfit scream comfort, it still has attributes that reflect my personality. Such as the mint color and asymmetrical hem of the skirt, and the texture in the basic tee.
When looking for casual pieces, think about practicality and comfortability.
How often will I wear this?
Does it fit well?
Am I comfortable?
Does this look like me?
With many pieces in my wardrobe I find that I prefer ones that stand out, key features that make a statement. So no matter what I am looking for whether casual or not, I am always trying to find something special. This helps make my personal style, me.
