6 Things You Did Not Know About Our Wedding

Today I take the time to reflect on everything that happened two years ago.  All the bridal showers, trips, and planning that led to our wedding.  Jmo and I had very specific ideas about how we wanted our wedding to happen.  I wanted it to be the best day and he wanted a party, we both go what we desired.

While I have discussed many details about our wedding on here and YouTube, there are still a few details I have never shared.  So, in honor of our two year anniversary (today) I am sharing 6 things you did not know about our wedding.

Best Day of My Life

Many people will tell you their wedding was one of the best days, and trust me I have said this on many occasions but today I will tell you why.  All of my friends and family were in one place, at the same time. Is anything better than that?  Swimming, high school, cross country, work and sorority friends were celebrating with Jmo and I, and it was the most fun I have ever had.

First Dance Song

Originally I had my heart set on “Code Blue” by The-Dream, a song played in Fifty Shades Darker and a personal favorite.  While Jmo was not completely opposed, he suggested our friend Jose Ortega play “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur instead and I must admit it was a much better fit.  And having Jose play our first dance song was special.

Wedding Ceremony (wasn’t concerned)

Girls dream about the perfect wedding ceremony.  Unfortunately I had no desire to have a long or overly emotional ceremony.  No offense to those who do, it just simply is not my personality.  I was much more concerned about how perfect I wanted the reception to be.

Multiple Wedding Dresses

Two wedding dresses was never the plan.  My ceremony dress was purchased over two years prior to our wedding (long engagement) and while I love that dress it was a little heavy and hot for a June wedding.  While getting my ceremony dress altered I noticed a gorgeous dress in the window and had to try it on.  It was perfect and became my reception dress.

Blush and Gold

I have always been certain I wanted blush and gold to be our wedding colors.  Unfortunately, by the time I got married Millennial pink was a “thing” and now everyone uses blush, but thankfully I am still obsessed with the color and don’t mind.  Although, I do pride myself on choosing blush before it was dubbed Millennial pink.

A New York City Wedding

It is no secret I am in love with New York City but it is not widely known that Jmo and I considered tying the knot in NYC.  It was a fleeting thought as I felt I would regret not having friends and family at the official ceremony.  So we passed up the idea, but it would have been awesome to have a secret New York wedding.

As time passes by and I have the opportunity to reminisce on that special day, I am immensely thankful for each and every person that was there to celebrate.  It would never have become the best day if I did not have all my friends and family with me.  Now, here is to many more years of kmo and jmo.

XO

Katelyn Moshier

Last Fun (slightly embarrassing) Fact: I wore this exact outfit to Sammy T’s (“club”) after our reception.  It was the wedding after party and it was fantastic and hilarious.
