The Party Dress

It seems as the year ends we have more parties to attend than ever before.  Between Holiday events, weddings, and New Years we are spending countless hours living our best lives with friends and family.

No matter the event it is always fun to take advantage and dress in our favorite pieces.  If you are like me, throughout the year there are very few events that require cocktail attire, so I tend to go all out during the Holiday season.

My ideal dress is exactly like the one above, something I could wear to not only holiday parties but would be great to keep in my closet for years to come.

When shopping for a “party dress” I have 3 major recommendations:

Fit is Important

When it comes to shopping for a party dress I make sure that the style I choose not only fits me but also flatters my body shape and size.  Make sure the length is appropriate for all possible Holiday events, you never want to show up in a dress that is too short.

Neutral Colors

Having 5 Holiday parties, 2 weddings, and New Years all within a month of each other it is simply impossible to have a new outfit for each event.  I love finding neutral colored dresses (or jumpsuits) that make it easy to switch up the shoes and accessories in order to re-wear the dress for another event, making it look completely different.

Think Outside the Box

There is no better time to try a new style (or trend) than the Holiday season.  I am talking tasteful sequins, sparkles, lace, or mesh.  Typically I avoid anything with sequins but when it comes to cocktail attire you really can not go wrong with a little sparkle.

Whatever you choose to wear this Holiday season as long as you accessorize with confidence you will look fantastic.  So step out of your comfort zone and dress like your are about to attend a Gatsby party.
