Trends come and go and while they are great at sparking conversation and creation, they will not always take you through out the years.  Creating a timeless wardrobe is essential.  Finding pieces that will not only show your personal style but also stay with you for years to come is ideal.

Although building a perfectly complete wardrobe may seem slightly overwhelming, I am here to break it down for you.  As the years have gone on and I have managed to curate my style into something I am proud of, I have also found pieces that I can not live without (click here to watch video).

Outerwear

Warm Coat: Depending on the weather in your area “warm” can be interpreted in many ways.  For myself living in Alabama a simple wool coat works divine.

Trench: While there is no need to invest in a Burberry trench, I do find it to be one of the best investments I have ever made.  A timeless piece that can be worn through so many seasons and for years to come.

Leather Jacket: An easy way to add a twist to any attire, the leather jacket.  Choose a color that fits your style best and wear it with anything from dresses to jeans and t-shirts.

Denim Jacket: Classic and simple.  Perfect for Spring and Summer nights out.  A piece to pair with anything in your wardrobe. Have you tried Denim on Denim yet?

Tops

White Blouse: When there is nothing to wear, there is always the white blouse.  With the ability to pair with multitudes of items in your wardrobe, it is a perfect piece to keep on hand.

Black Blouse: For the same reasons you need white, one can not live without a go-to black blouse.  Perfect for any season, paired with jeans or skirts, it is a wardrobe essential.

Chunky Knit Sweater: While the weather may not always call for a chunky knit, I dream of sweater weather all year long.  We all need a cozy knit on hand, when you want to look cute but its too chilly for anything else.

Simple White Tank: As we look up the definition of wardrobe essential, we will find a picture of a simple white tank.  Easy to pair with everything and ideal for layering.  I could not live without mine.

Simple Black Tank: Did I mention that it is impossible to own a white tank without realizing how crucial a black tank is to your wardrobe?

Casual but Cute T-shirt: When the days are long and all we want is comfort, having a cute t-shirt in our wardrobes can be extremely beneficial.  In reality, we probably have way more than just one.

Black Sweater: Like I have mentioned previously sweater weather is my favorite and I love having a comfortable black sweater on hand as the perfect go-to for Fall.

Wrap Top: We all love to look and feel good and there is no better way than the wrap top.  One of the most flattering pieces of clothing you will ever own, it is great to have in your wardrobe.

Dresses

Black Dress: You have heard of the Little Black Dress before, right? We all know that black is slimming and the perfect go-to when you have no idea what to wear.

Red Dress: Bright colors can be scary and typically I steer clear of them when speaking about wardrobe essentials BUT I think its important to have at least one.  I chose red, although anything bold will do.

Wedding Guest Dress: Weddings are inevitable and sometimes the most difficult events to dress for as a guest.  Look for a dress that can be worn through out the seasons and appropriate for many different settings.

Bottoms

Black Jeans: For some of us jeans are a way of life, essential to everyday.  Black denim is perfect for fall and winter and amazing at slimming those legs.

Black Ripped Jeans: My personal preference of jean styles are 100% ripped denim.  I find it more flattering on my body type so having black ripped denim is a must in my wardrobe.

Denim: Even if you despise jeans it is always great to have at least one pair of denim in your wardrobe.  You never know when you may need it.

Go-To Spring/Summer Skirt: Skirts are my favorite and having the perfect go-to for spring and summer is essential.  Find a skirt that works with your style and can be worn with multiple different pieces.

Go-To Fall/Winter Skirt: As much as I love my spring and summer wardrobe, I thrive in the fall and winter.  So having a skirt that screams fall/winter is perfect.

Shoes

Black Pumps: Classic and essential for any woman, a black pump can be worn for any occasion.

Neutral Heels: Comfort is key when thinking of the perfect neutral heel.  I recommend the block heel as I find it the most practical heel there is.  Wear it all Spring and Summer and it will be worth an investment.

Black Booties: When Fall arrives we all tend to wear booties non-stop.  Try finding a classic black bootie that provides style and comfort.  It is also a perfect way to transition summer dresses into fall.

Tan/Brown Booties: While I may wear a lot of black in the Fall and Winter I have noticed that a tan bootie can be an essential piece as well.  Stepping out of my comfort zone and into a pair of tan booties to brighten up any dark look.

Sneakers: Since I may not always find my heels or booties comfortable, I will never think my wardrobe is complete without a fashion sneaker.  Perfect with skirts, dresses, jeans, and more.  And don’t forget, they are crazy comfortable.

We all dream of living a life full of excitement, love, and a full wardrobe. And I am proud to say that with all 25 of these pieces I feel my wardrobe is full.  Although…I am loving all the Autumn trends this season and I have a feeling you do too.  As I leave you today, think about pairing your new favorite trends with the classic pieces in your wardrobe, I promise you won’t regret it.
