I started working my first job in retail at 16. Quiet, shy, scared are all words that describe how I felt but also excited. Thrilled to have a job but terrified of actually interacting with customers.
Fleet Feet Sports was my first job, I started simply restocking the shoes, clothing, and more never having to actually speak to customers which at the time was very good for me. Eventually, I learned how to take a customer through the Fit Process and that is when I had to stop being scared of talking to people.
Looking back I am still surprised as to how shy I was even around other employees, I remember the first time I actually started being myself and came out of my shell. Still laughing thinking about that night.
